There Is a Way Forward

Transitions trigger the nervous system's threat responses. When you're facing the unknown, your body may be in survival mode even when you rationally know you're safe. Somatic therapy helps your nervous system adapt to change while honoring what needs to be grieved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about somatic work and how I can help.

I didn't choose this change. How can therapy help?

When change is thrust upon us, our nervous system often goes into survival mode. Therapy helps you process the shock and grief, find solid ground, and eventually discover possibilities you couldn't see when overwhelmed.

What kinds of transitions do you work with?

I work with all major transitions: career changes, relationship endings or beginnings, moves, health challenges, loss of loved ones, retirement, becoming a parent, identity shifts, and more.

I've been stuck in this transition for years. Is it too late?

It's never too late. Prolonged transitions often mean the nervous system got stuck in a protective response. Somatic therapy can help complete this process at any point.

Will you tell me what to do?

No. My role is to help you access your own wisdom about what's right for you. The answers are within you—therapy helps you hear them clearly.

What if I'm afraid of what I might discover about myself?

This fear is normal. We go at your pace, and often what clients discover is not something scary but something they've always known deep down but weren't ready to acknowledge.
