Process and Heal From Traumatic Events
Whether recent or long past, traumatic events can be processed and integrated. Somatic work offers a path to resolution.
You're Not Alone
Are You Still Affected By Past Events?
A specific event continues to affect you months or years later
You avoid reminders of what happened
The memory intrudes into your daily life unexpectedly
You've noticed changes in yourself since the event
You feel like part of you is still stuck in that moment
Physical symptoms appeared after the traumatic event
Trauma isn't what happened to you—it's what got stuck in your body
When overwhelming events occur, the survival energy mobilized to protect you can get trapped. Somatic work helps that energy complete its natural cycle, allowing your body to finally process what happened.
Understanding
What is Trauma?
Trauma occurs when an experience overwhelms your nervous system's capacity to cope. Your body mobilizes enormous energy for survival—to fight, flee, or freeze—but that energy doesn't always discharge afterward.
This trapped survival energy keeps your body responding as if the threat is still present. You may startle easily, feel chronically anxious, have difficulty relaxing, or experience physical symptoms that appeared after the event.
The event itself may be 'over,' but for your nervous system, it's still happening. This is why simply knowing you're safe doesn't make you feel safe.
In somatic work, we help your body complete what it couldn't complete during the event. As the frozen survival energy finally discharges, your nervous system can update: the event is over. You survived. You are safe.

Questions & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about somatic work and how I can help.
How recent does a trauma need to be to work with it?
We can work with events that happened yesterday or decades ago. The nervous system doesn't have a time limit on processing.
What kinds of events can be processed this way?
Any event that overwhelmed your capacity to cope: accidents, medical procedures, violence, losses, natural disasters, toxic relationships, and more.
Will I have to describe what happened in detail?
No. We work with your body's experience, not a detailed narrative. You share only what feels right for you.
What are your fees?
My fee is $175 per 60-minute session. Longer sessions are available and prorated accordingly. I reserve a limited number of sliding scale slots for individuals who need nervous system healing but face financial barriers. If cost is a concern, please reach out to discuss current availability. I don't accept insurance.
