Somatic Experiencing® Sessions
I work with the body to make room for feeling. That usually leads to more capacity to rest, more spontaneity, and more energy for life.

What might bring you to Somatic Experiencing®
You've heard it can resolve what talk alone couldn't
You've noticed your body can hold onto anxiety, overwhelm, or old trauma long after your mind understands what happened
Understanding why something happened hasn't been enough to change how your body still reacts to it
You're realistic — you're not looking for the feeling to disappear overnight, but you want to change your relationship to it and harness the power that fuels it
You're tired of coping strategies that manage symptoms without ever getting underneath them
You're ready for an approach that works with the body, not just the story
What is Somatic Experiencing®?
Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. Rather than revisiting painful memories in detail, we track how you're feeling now and take it from there.
Trauma isn't just a memory or a story we tell — it lives in the body. It's in the tension we hold, the breath we restrict, the sensations we've learned to avoid.
When we encounter a threatening situation and the mobilized energy isn't fully discharged, it becomes trapped in the body. This is why many people understand their trauma intellectually but still feel hijacked by their nervous system — the racing heart, the shutdown, the overwhelm.
Somatic therapy recognizes this truth: to truly heal, we have to work with the body, not just the mind.
Talk Therapy vs Somatic Experiencing®
Talk Therapy
- Top-down approach
- "Tell me what happened"
- Uses language/insight/narrative
- Understands the "why" of patterns
- Outcome: "I understand my trust issues now"
Somatic Experiencing®
- Bottom-up approach
- "What’s happening in the body right now?"
- Works with sensation/impulse/movement
- Changes the "how" of responses
- Outcome: "My body feels more relaxed now"

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about somatic work and how I can help.
Is this the same as psychotherapy?
No. I'm not a licensed psychotherapist, and sessions offered here are personal development and somatic-based wellness work — not psychotherapy, mental health counseling, diagnosis, or medical treatment. If you're looking for treatment for a mental health condition, a licensed professional is the right call. In a crisis, call or text 988; if there's immediate danger, call 911.
Does it work well online?
Very well. This is body-centered work, but it doesn't require physical touch to be effective. Through guided awareness and nervous system tracking, an online session can go just as deep as an in-person one.
What do you charge?
$175 for a 60-minute session. I keep a limited number of sliding-scale spots — if cost is the barrier, reach out and we'll figure it out. I don't take insurance, but I accept credit/debit cards and Zelle.
Do I have to talk about my past in detail?
Not really. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Somatic Experiencing® doesn't ask you to revisit events in detail. We work with how the body is holding tension or energy in the present, and release it gently — at a pace that stays manageable.
What actually happens in a session?
We slow down and track sensation together — where it lives in the body, how it moves, what it's asking for. Using titration (small amounts of activation at a time) and pendulation (moving between activation and calm), the nervous system gradually discharges what it's been holding. It's conversational, and paced by the body, not the clock.
How long is a session, and how many will I need?
A session runs 60 minutes — enough time to settle in, work with what's arising, and integrate it before we close. How many you'll need depends on your goals; some people notice shifts in a few sessions, others prefer ongoing support. We check in regularly and adjust as we go.
Who I Am
I'm Dario Droznes, a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. I didn't come to this work from a textbook. I came to it because it changed my life. Now I help other people find that same shift.
Can it resolve everything at once? No. Does it work? Usually yes.
I believe healing happens when we listen to what our bodies have been trying to tell us. Together, we'll gently work with tension, exhaustion, and overwhelm, helping the nervous system find its way back to safety and ease.
